*** Please note the Head Office for this role is based in the Midlands - There is the potential for a very hybrid working policy but there will be expectation to go to the office some of the time ***This is a rare opportunity to step into a brand-new Merchandising Manager role and play a pivotal part in launching a not-for-profit organisation's retail proposition from the ground up.Our client has a powerful social mission at its heart. The Role:
As Merchandising Manager, you will take full ownership of the end-to-end merchandising strategy for a newly forming retail proposition. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you'll operate both strategically and operationally.You'll be trusted to design, implement and evolve the merchandising function, working closely with senior stakeholders while having the freedom to shape how things are done.
Key Responsibilities Include: Building and owning the merchandising strategy to support the launch and growth of the retail proposition
Developing robust merchandise plans, forecasts and trading strategies
Managing range planning, stock management, intake and availability
Using insight and data to drive commercial decisions while remaining agile and pragmatic
Partnering with buying, retail and leadership teams to ensure alignment with the organisation's wider mission
Continuously improving processes, ways of working and commercial performance
This role offers real autonomy - you won't be inheriting layers of legacy or rigid hierarchy.
About You:
This role will suit someone who is commercially strong, values-led, and excited by the idea of building something new. A background in merchandise planning within a traditional retail environment
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance profit and purpose
Experience operating both strategically and hands-on
Confidence working in ambiguity and building frameworks from scratch
A collaborative, down-to-earth approach and a desire to do work that has meaning
