As a Woodland Tutor you will be required to deliver a bespoke programme of Woodland Learning sessions following the Forest School ethos. Working together with another tutor, you will teach individuals or small groups of children in an outdoor environment. Sessions have a therapeutic approach and may include some academic elements.
Job responsibilities:
* Deliver high quality teaching to the best of your ability.
* Use observation and student review to monitor progress.
* Complete programme evaluation to record successes against individual objectives
* Ensure all safeguarding obligations are met.

* Attend in-house PD sessions.
Please note: Sub contractors are expected to invoice for services at the agreed rate and are responsible for paying their own tax and NI on a self-employed basis.
Contractor Tutors will also be responsible for ensuring they have an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the government update service. In addition, they are required to hold a current safeguarding certificate, a Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate and at least basic first aid. If necessary, we can assist in helping you acquire these certificates.
Job specifications
Required:
Have experience working with learners with SEN/SEMH and a passion for outdoor learning. Have experience teaching individuals and/or groups, ideally in an outdoor setting.
Hold a current enhanced DBS certificate ideally on the update service.
Be committed to the safety and welfare of those in their care and uphold all safeguarding
responsibilities.
Have a clear understanding and experience of managing/ supporting challenging behaviour in a positive manner.
Have the ability to support and inspire children and encourage them to engage with learning opportunities.
Understand the different ways in which children learn and be able to adapt teaching
methods to meet the individual needs of each learner.
Be able to build and sustain effective working relationships with learners, colleagues and
families (as appropriate).
Demonstrate effective time management and organisational skills.
Demonstrate effective administration and communication skills
Demonstrate a positive commitment to own personal development
Desirable:
Significant experience working with SEN.
Basic First Aid certificate/ Forest School or Outdoor first aid
