TT Games was acquired by Warner Bros. in 2007 and went on to develop the hit LEGO games franchise. The company is proud to continue its mission to be the leading publisher of interactive entertainment for young gamers and their families.
The Role
As a Character Artist in the Art Department, you’ll work closely with a talented team to shape the visual direction of upcoming TT Games titles. You’ll create high-quality character and item assets that align with both artistic vision and technical requirements.
Your responsibilities include producing 2D concepts, modeling, sculpting, texturing, and optimizing assets for in-game and promotional use. You’ll collaborate across departments to develop characters that enhance storytelling and player engagement, while also contributing to the improvement of character art workflows and tools.
Utilising a strong grasp of character design principles, adaptability across styles and pipelines, and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset you will help shape the visual direction of the next generation of TT Games titles.
Main Responsibilities
1. Design and create character art assets as directed by the Lead Character Artist.
2. Set up characters to meet department and engine-specific requirements.
3. Optimize content for multiple platforms.
4. Create approval materials for internal and external stakeholder review.
Additional Responsibilities
5. Communicate proactively with other departments to improve efficiency and quality.
6. Maintain asset libraries and documentation.
7. Stay current with industry trends and tools through training.
Required Skills & Experience
8. A strong portfolio showcasing artistic quality and consistency.
9. Proficiency in ZBrush, Maya, Substance Painter, Photoshop and Unreal Engine 5.
10. Experience creating character art for Unreal Engine 5.
11. Strong communication, organization, and risk management skills.
12. Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic environment.
Beneficial Skills
13. Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator for decal / texture creation.
14. Knowledge of LEGO themes and building techniques.
15. Strong traditional art skills.
16. Broader knowledge of Unreal Engine 5 beyond character art.
17. Scripting skills for pipeline / tools efficiency.
18. A relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
