Avionics Aircraft Simulator Engineer
Location: Carterton, United Kingdom (RAF Brize Norton – Voyager Academy)

Key Responsibilities And Tasks
* Carry out pre‑ and post‑use checks of simulator equipment
* Schedule and perform maintenance on simulator equipment
* Prepare equipment for use
* Recognise fault conditions and investigate defects
* Assist in all other maintenance activities
* Familiarise with MOD documentation practices and procedures
* Support compilation of COSHH and Risk Assessments
* Conduct defect investigation, rectification and troubleshooting on simulator equipment
* Carry out supervisory activities when authorised
* Perform secondary duties for site management as required
* Deputise for the Senior Simulator Engineer when directed by Site Engineering Manager
Skills And Experience
* Proven experience in flight simulation, with excellent IT/computing skills (software & hardware)
* 5 years’ experience in flight simulation or a related field
* Ability to repair, overhaul, calibrate and test simulators to ensure optimum performance
* Experience rectifying defects on flight simulators, sub‑systems, visual systems and other training devices
* Modify hardware/software and perform preventative maintenance and testing to meet company and regulatory standards
* Maintain all technical and regulatory documentation
* Experience with CAE, L‑3 (Rediffusion/Thales) and TRU Simulation devices
* Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing flight simulators and ability to maintain them to high standard
* Analytical and diagnostic skills for electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic components
* Excellent attention to detail and proactive, self‑directed work ethic

Security Clearance
This role requires SC Clearance. If you do not already hold it, you will need to obtain, achieve and maintain SC Clearance. Candidates generally need to have lived in the UK for the last 5 years; in some circumstances 3 years may be accepted. Refer to the National Security Vetting (NSV) Agency and Defence Business Services NSV for evidence requirements.
