 Are you a skilled HGV technician with a passion for precision, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality vehicle maintenance? Join our team and play a key role in ensuring the fleet and external customers’ vehicles are safe, reliable, and roadworthy.
 As a HGV Technician, you’ll work on a diverse range of vehicles, from HGVs to light vehicles and road-going plant. This is a hands-on role that combines technical expertise, problem-solving, and teamwork to deliver a first-class service.
 
 What You’ll Be Doing
Carrying out maintenance, inspection, repair, and testing of HGVs, light vehicles, and road-going plant.
Preparing vehicles for annual MOT inspections and performing periodic safety inspections to DVSA standards.
Diagnosing faults in hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, including welding, fabrication, and body repairs.
Attending broken down or accident-damaged vehicles and performing temporary or permanent repairs as required.
Providing technical advice to internal teams and external customers.
Leading or supporting research, improvement projects, and service enhancements, including monitoring performance and budgets.
Managing day-to-day administration, record keeping, and documentation related to the workshop and projects.
Overseeing contracts, certifications, and project expenditures, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Supervising and supporting a small team, planning workloads, and delivering training and guidance where needed.
Preparing reports, action plans, and management information to support operational and strategic decisions.
Promoting excellent working relationships with colleagues, clients, external agencies, and private contractors.What We’re Looking For
City & Guilds or IMI Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, Motor Vehicle Engineering, or equivalent.
Full UK driving license
Proven experience in fault diagnosis, repairs, and maintenance of HGVs and associated systems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organisational and communication skills.
Awareness of health and safety regulations and ability to work safely in a workshop environment.
Flexibility to work out of hours on occasion, including emergency response times.Why Join Us?
