As we continue to grow, we are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Accountant to join our close-knit team and grow with us.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a career in accountancy. You will provide essential support to our team, gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of practice accounting.
Responsibilities
* VAT & Compliance: Preparing and submitting accurate VAT returns.
* Payroll: Running end-to-end payroll for multiple clients, processing RTI submissions, and managing pension contributions.
* Year-End Support: Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and corporation tax computations for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
* Personal Tax: Preparing rental accounts and analysing other sources of income.
Requirements
* Proven experience in an accounting role or similar position within an accountancy practice or finance sector.
* Proficiency in accounting software including IRIS Accountancy, Payroll Manager, VT Transaction+ is highly desirable, but not essential.
* Strong excel skills are required.
* Understanding of financial management principles and practices.
* Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in work output.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
* Effective communication skills.
* Qualified / Part Qualified Accountant: A degree or qualification in Accounting or Finance is preferred but not essential for candidates with relevant experience.
