About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and flexible Driver to join our Special Events team, supporting the Metropolitan Police Service. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role where you'll play a vital part in the deployment and collection of traffic management equipment for major, high‑profile events across London.
You'll work as part of a collaborative team, supporting operational delivery while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deploy and collect traffic management equipment and temporary signage
2. Deliver, set up, and operate equipment including tents, generators, lighting, and trailer‑mounted VMS units
3. Assist with general maintenance and fabrication activities within the workshop
4. Deliver furniture and white goods to MPS premises
5. Complete daily vehicle checks and maintain tools and equipment
6. Undertake training and share skills and knowledge with colleagues
Requirements
7. Proven experience driving a 7.5‑tonne vehicle
8. CPC modules completed or in progress (LGV Class 2 licence desirable)
9. Chapter 8 Sign, Light & Guard certification desirable
10. Ability to successfully pass CTC Police clearance
11. Flexible approach to working hours, including out‑of‑hours and call‑out duties
