We specialize in selling, renting, supplying parts, and servicing equipment across various industries, including mining, construction, and forestry. Now, we’re looking for a passionate Service Controller to lead our team of engineers and ensure our customers receive the outstanding service they deserve!
What You'll Do:
As a Service Controller, you will play a vital role in optimizing resources to meet customer needs efficiently while maintaining our high standards of service delivery. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Customer Engagement: Understand and respond to customer requests, prioritizing their needs and identifying actions with agreed timescales.
* Resource Allocation: Allocate the most appropriate resources to address customer needs effectively.
* Job Management: Plan jobs to maximize engineer productivity and manage job progress at every stage.
* Work Order Management: Open and close work orders accurately to maximize billing accuracy and timeliness.
* Team Leadership: Directly manage a team of 4-8 engineers, providing mentorship and addressing performance issues.
* Process Adherence: Ensure adherence to service processes and procedures for consistent, extraordinary customer service delivery.
What We're Looking For:
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:
* Customer Service Skills: Ability to develop strong customer relationships.
* Planning and Organizing: Excellent planning and organizational skills.
* Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail in all tasks.
* Interpersonal Skills: Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
* IT Proficiency: Good IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.
* Team Player: Works well as part of a team.
Desirable Knowledge:
While not mandatory, the following knowledge will be advantageous:
* Advanced engineering aptitude.
* Gas & Diesel Engine product knowledge.
* Familiarity with mobile and fixed equipment components and systems.
* Experience with existing applications and systems (e.g., DBSi Work order system, SAP).
* Understanding of warranty and commissioning processes.
Education and Experience:
We require:
* A foundational understanding of engineering principles and qualifications.
* A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a technical or mechanical engineering role.
* Previous experience in a similar role within the industry is desirable.
Working Conditions:
This is a permanent, office-based position with a flexible working pattern between 7 AM – 6 PM on weekdays, with potential Saturday work if required. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and dispatching approximately 100 work orders monthly, with an average value of £300k.
