Join SYSTRA UK & Ireland as a Principal Drainage Engineer
We are seeking a Principal Drainage Engineer to join our team at SYSTRA UK & Ireland. This role offers hybrid working with 2-3 days in the office.

Role Overview
You will be part of our growing drainage team, supporting highway and development projects from feasibility to detailed design, including drainage design and Flood Risk Assessments. You will work closely with clients across sectors and regions, managing projects, budgets, and teams, and leading technical delivery and development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage civil engineering aspects of projects, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule adherence.
* Lead and develop junior engineers, oversee technical outputs, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
* Deliver drainage designs complying with standards like Sewers for Adoption, DMRB, and local guides.
* Engage with clients, manage expectations, and represent the company externally.
Qualifications and Skills
* Proven civil engineering experience in consultancy, with expertise in surface/wastewater drainage design.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microdrainage, InfoDrainage, Civil3D, and related software.
* Strong project management skills, including financial oversight.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities.
