The Role
As a Data Analyst, you will lead data-focused initiatives across multiple projects aimed at building and improving transaction monitoring and regulatory frameworks. You will act as a subject matter expert on data used in surveillance controls and help drive insights that strengthen risk management practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Support multiple risk and control projects by gathering data requirements and sourcing relevant datasets
* Write SQL queries to extract, analyse, and validate data
* Document datasets, filters, and methodologies with clear rationale
* Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for data used in transaction monitoring controls
* Partner with stakeholders to review findings and recommend improvements
* Investigate data issues, identify root causes, and assess impact on end users
* Operate with autonomy while contributing to a collaborative team environment
* Ensure all activities align with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and ethical standards
Skills & Experience
* 4–8 years’ experience as a Data Analyst or Business Analyst
* Knowledge of financial instruments (especially bonds and derivatives) is highly desirable
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong stakeholder management and influencing abilities
* Experience working with globally distributed teams
* Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilitiesAbility to balance big-picture thinking with attention to detail
Education
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent experience)
