Passenger Assistant Role
The Passenger Assistant accompanies young people in the back of the vehicle, ensuring their safe journey from home to school and back.
This role primarily involves working with children who have special educational needs, including autism, emotional or behavioural difficulties, Asperger’s syndrome, hearing or sight impairments, among others.
This is a part-time position, mainly during term time, Monday to Friday. Working hours are typically between 06:00 or 07:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with hours varying depending on the route. The pay rate is £11.50 per hour, with potential increases after the first year. You can work between 16 and 30 hours per week.
To apply, you must attend the Passenger Assistant Training (PATS). Additional required documents include proof of ID, two proofs of address (such as a bank statement or utility bill), National Insurance number, an enhanced DBS certificate with checks against the children and adults barred lists, and proof of right to work in the UK.
