BMI UK&I have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Warehouse Team Leader to join our team. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role is based in Shawell.

Role Summary
The Warehouse Team Leader is responsible for the overall running of the Warehouse / Yard and ensures that all the day-to-day warehouse activities and processes are maintained to run a safe, effective and efficient operation.

The Warehouse Team Leader is a hands-on role driving the provision of an efficient and reliable service by effectively using the business processes applicable to the warehousing operation while continuously striving to improve site performance by using KPIs to guide progress.


As the Warehouse Team Leader, your key responsibilities will be:

1. Sets and maintains high standards for Health and Safety, Quality, housekeeping and output to plan.

2. The overall responsibility of the Warehouse operation is to ensure that the company’s service, quality, safety and environmental standards are upheld.

3. Ensure that safety is a high priority among both employees and visitors.

4. Proactively engaging with colleagues across the business, particularly Production and PLW teams, to maximise warehouse storage capacity efficiently in line with production and forecasts.

5. Ensuring Quality Control processes are robustly implemented to ensure all stock is received, stored, and delivered in optimum condition.

6. System accuracy to always ensure high levels of inventory accuracy across the warehouse and outside storage.

7. Taking responsibility for the operating procedures and disciplines within the warehouse, ensuring full compliance and undertaking the planning and deployment of labour resources to meet the volume of despatch, picking and goods-in requirement.

8. Carry out employees’ performance reviews, team briefing and training as necessary.

9. Ensure that the warehouse operates to the Company processes and that all checks and audits are carried out.

10. Raising purchase requisitions, raising and inputting GRNs.

11. Overall responsibility for the loading and unloading of customer and supplier vehicles for both goods in and goods out, including Raw Materials and Engineering Spares and Consumables.

12. Ensure that all outgoing and incoming stock is checked for quality and quantity.

13. Responsible for the stock handover process.

14. Ensure that perpetual stock inventories are carried out and that the stock records are accurate.

15. Carry out quality and environmental checks, which ensures that the site complies with all the relevant BSI and internal audit requirements.

16. Ensure mobile plant maintenance checks are carried out thoroughly, and records maintained.

17. Review and maintain the site's vehicle and pedestrian traffic routes to ensure they are always safe.

18. Ensure the Warehouse and Yard areas adopt 5S and maintain to a high standard.

Your key skills and experience will include:

19. CILT Level 3 Warehousing or equivalent.

20. IOSH or equivalent H&S qualifications.

21. Experience with SAP / ERP systems.

22. Experience working in a warehouse environment at management level across an inbound and outbound multi-shift site.

23. Have good time management skills with the ability to set priorities, fulfil critical tasks in time and keep to deadlines.

24. Excellent communication skills.

25. Ability to work in fast-paced environments .

26. Continuous improvement experience.

27. Experience of volume manufacturing.

28. Management experience in a fast paced, Unionised manufacturing environment would be preferable
