At Southern Housing, cyber security isn’t just about firewalls and alerts it’s about protecting services that people rely on every day. We’re looking for a Security Analyst who’s passionate about threat detection, incident response and continuous improvement, and who wants to apply their technical expertise in an organisation with real social purpose.
Joining our Technology and Security function, you’ll be on the frontline of our cyber defence – monitoring, investigating and responding to security incidents, working closely with our external SOC and internal tech teams to keep our systems resilient and secure. You’ll play a hands-on role in triaging alerts, remediating threats, improving security hygiene and supporting the delivery of our wider cyber security strategy alongside the Cyber Security Manager.
If you enjoy digging into alerts, separating false positives from genuine threats, and taking ownership of technical security incidents in a fast‑moving environment, this is a role where your skills will make a visible and meaningful impact.
What you’ll need
1. Working knowledge using Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, Mimecast
2. Strong hands-on experience within a security role, managing incidents and requests
3. Assist with vulnerability management activities
4. Working knowledge of Azure Active Directory
5. Ability to think logically, analyse situations and solve technical problems
6. Decisive, proactive and takes initiative
7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with all organisational levels
8. Excellent attention to detail
9. Produce clear, accurate security reports relating to incidents, investigations, and operational security activity
