Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Compliance Officer for a Local Authority Client in East London.
In this role you will ensure compliance with legal and governance standards by advising on FOI, GDPR, complaints, and data protection.
Duties:
* Provide expert advice on FOI, GDPR, complaints, and data protection to staff and senior managers.
* Oversee, monitor, and quality-assure responses to FOI and Subject Access Requests.
* Investigate data incidents, monitor performance, and produce reports for management.
* Manage and support a Compliance Apprentice, ensuring workload distribution and professional development.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
* Experience providing advice and guidance on FOI, GDPR, data protection, or complaints.
* Experience working in a local authority or public sector organisation.
* Experience managing sensitive issues, investigations, or complex cases.
* Experience supervising or supporting staff, including apprentices or junior colleagues.
What's on offer:
Salary: £25ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
