What you'll be doing:-
The Raw Material Coordinator (Savoury) is responsible for the accurate picking, checking, and weighing of raw materials for use in liquid flavour production and savoury blending operations. The role ensures materials are compliant, within shelf life, quality approved, and prepared in accordance with works orders to support efficient and safe production.
The raw material preparation element of the role typically accounts for approximately 4–5 hours per day. For the remainder of the shift, the role will support the Savoury Blending Production Team, assisting in the manufacture and blending of savoury products to meet production schedules.
This is a hands-on operational role requiring accuracy, flexibility, and strong attention to detail within a food manufacturing environment.
Working full-time (40 hours per week :30 Monday to Friday.
Salary - £26,500 to £28,000 per annum, depending on previous experience.
Main Responsibilities:-
* Pick raw materials according to works orders for liquid flavour and savoury blending production.
* Accurately weigh and dispense materials to specified quantities and tolerances.
* Label prepared materials clearly and correctly for production use.
* Ensure materials are staged in the correct production areas in a timely manner.
* Verify that all raw materials have passed Quality Control (QC) checks before use.
* Check batch numbers, allergen status, and shelf life/expiry dates prior to weighing.
* Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) stock rotation procedures.
* Report any discrepancies, damaged materials, or out-of-specification concerns
* Complete all required documentation accurately
* Assist with stock take and stock checks as required.
* Maintain accurate raw material traceability records.
* Ensure raw material storage areas are organised, clean, and compliant with food safety standards.
* Operate weighing scales and dispensing equipment safely and accurately.
* Operate a Reach Forklift Truck (FLT) to move raw materials
* Adhere to all Health & Safety, Food Safety, GMP, and HACCP requirements.
* Maintain a clean and hygienic working environment in line with company standards.
* Assist in the blending and manufacture of savoury products in line with production plans.
* Operate blending equipment and associated machinery safely and efficiently.
* Load and unload mixers/blenders as required.
* Follow recipes and production instructions accurately.
* Ensure correct allergen controls and segregation procedures are followed.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in production areas.
* Support packing or other production tasks as required.
Skills Required:-
Essential:
* Good numeracy skills and attention to detail.
* Experience following works orders or production documentation.
* Understanding of FIFO and basic stock control principles.
* Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable:
* Experience in flavour or savoury blending production.
* Reach FLT licence (ideal but not essential).
* Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards.
* Previous experience in a food manufacturing or ingredients production environment.
* Reliably able to commute to Avonmouth.
