Role: Tesco Colleague - Customer Service Desk - Martlesham Extra

Location: Tesco Martlesham Heath, England, United Kingdom

Pay: Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £12.45 an hour; this increases to £13.66 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

Hours: It is our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week. If you would like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12), we have opportunities for this too and would love to hear from you.

Availability: The table shows the periods of time in the week we would like you to be available to work (availability windows). We will schedule your contracted hours within these times, and you will have 3 weeks’ notice of exactly when your shifts will be. We are happy to support flexibility if your available times closely match but are not exactly the advertised times.

Age requirement: PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST BE OVER 18 TO APPLY FOR THIS ROLE.

Responsibilities

* Knowing your customers and serving them with passion and pride; giving great natural service.
* Being passionate and knowledgeable about the products and services within the store.
* Applying training to work safely, effectively and to serve customers brilliantly.
* Dealing with customer complaints and feedback professionally, always sending customers home happy.
* Accurately recording customer details and treating this information confidentially.
* Carrying out safe and legal checks on the desk you are trained for, reporting next steps to the Shift Leader/Team Manager.
* Recording and disposing of waste responsibly, including following food waste and recycling routines.
* Accurately recording and processing returned items from customers.
* Signing in visitors and ensuring they are aware of health, safety and fire procedures for the store.
* Controlling keys stored at the desk correctly.
* Liaising with Shift Leaders, Managers and Security, communicating clearly.
* Taking part in seasonal, community and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere.
* Working across the store in service, picking and replenishment areas where required.
* Handling products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in the best condition.
* Being yourself, living Tesco values, making everyone feel welcome and following policies.
