About The Team And Role
eBay Live is a new way to sell on eBay, where sellers and buyers interact live on video. eBay sellers build buyer trust, expand their customer base, and grow repeat business through consistent and engaging live streams on eBay Live. eBay buyers can view, chat, ask questions, give feedback, vote, and buy online during eBay Live selling. This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing platform that could change not only how commerce is done on eBay but across the industry.
The UK GM of eBay Live will own the growth and operations of the eBay Live business, articulating strategy to address key opportunities for customers and the business, and bringing alignment across the organization. This role involves partnering with global product, marketing, monetization, policy, and customer service teams to implement strategic programs, set objectives and key results, and build processes to drive impactful outcomes for the Live platform.
What You Will Accomplish
1. Develop the competitive value proposition for eBay Live in the UK to drive growth and transform ecommerce, leveraging insights from eBay Live US while building a localized strategy.
2. Grow an organization suited to local needs, including category & account management, programming & production, and seller/product operations; collaborate across finance, HR, legal, marketing to meet performance targets.
3. Create hypothesis-driven learning agendas across selection, content, and operations; iterate on playbooks to enhance success.
4. Coordinate with the central US team on standard processes and resources, and with the regional CEO on go-to-market and regulatory considerations.
5. Forge strategic partnerships with local GMs across categories to enable a successful experience.
6. Drive team engagement and lead performance on key priorities.
What You Will Bring
1. BA/BS degree, with 10+ years of relevant ecommerce experience; media industry experience and MBA or advanced degree a plus.
2. Experience as a leader of an operational business or as a General Manager in an online marketplace, digital platform, or retail environment.
3. Proven ability to define strategy, align cross-functional teams, and deliver from roadmap to execution in a collaborative environment.
4. Broad experience across operations, product, and marketing functions.
5. Comfort with decision-making under ambiguity, utilizing data to meet objectives and drive initiatives to completion.
