We are recruiting on behalf of a technology company based in Wokingham. They are seeking an Embedded Applications Engineer to join their talented team. The role involves visiting customer sites to support Sales Engineers with demonstrations and technical expertise.

About the role
As an Embedded Applications Engineer, you will join their Embedded team and report to the Technical Manager. You will provide high-quality, timely design, support, and integration services to customers. You will work as part of a highly technical design support team.
* Provide high-quality, timely design, support, and integration services to customers.
* Contribute to revenue and profit targets by providing solutions through design-in of franchised products.
* Prepare design and build documentation, prototypes, and procedures to eliminate post-sales quality issues.
Responsibilities
Your main duties include:
* Advising and supporting the Sales team with technical queries.
* Assisting customers with solutions to achieve their goals.
* Creating and maintaining build and test documentation.
* Hands-on build and repair tasks.
* Guiding internal and external customers, including upselling opportunities.
* Providing product training to team members.
* First-line fault finding and working with customers on No Fault Found issues.
* Collaborating with suppliers to identify and repair faulty products.
* Testing products post-repair.
* Working with manufacturers to resolve design issues and procure advanced replacement stock.
* Providing detailed technical reports to customers and suppliers.
* Developing procedures for product integration issues.
* Providing custom BIOS updates to meet updated requirements.
Candidate profile
Key skills and attributes include:
* Embedded computing knowledge (PC hardware, PCI, COMe, BIOS, EFI, drivers, USB, etc.).
* Knowledge of legacy technologies (VME, PC/104), RTOS, Linux, Windows OS is advantageous.
* Engineering qualification and strong troubleshooting skills.
Additional skills and experience:
* Hands-on experience in building and repairing PCs.
* Proficiency with real-time OS, Windows, Ubuntu, Linux, driver support, and basic driver development.
* Experience re-flashing BIOS/EFI and diagnosing solutions with customers and suppliers.
* Exceptional customer service and communication skills.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Hours & compensation
The role offers a competitive salary, onsite parking, bonus, and attractive benefits. Working hours are 37.5 hours per week, with a salary range of £50,000 to £55,000 per annum.
