Description:
We are currently seeking a Senior Anatomical Pathology Technician to join our Cancer division at Chesterfield & North Derbyshire Royal Hospital. This role offers an opportunity for individuals with the relevant qualifications and experience to contribute to our pathology team.
responsibilities:
* Conduct complex dissections and autopsies under the guidance of pathologists.
* Prepare and process tissue specimens for analysis, including embedding, sectioning, staining, and mounting.
* Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
* Provide support and guidance to junior staff members and pathology trainees.
* Maintain accurate records of specimens, tests, and procedures performed.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Requirements:
* RSPH Certificate (or level 3) and Diploma (or level 4) in Anatomical Pathology Technology.
* Experience working in a pathology laboratory setting is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of anatomy, histology, and laboratory procedures.
* Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.
* Effective communication and teamwork abilities
