We are delighted to offer the opportunity for a highly motivated and well‑organised individual to join the Medical Secretaries team within Medical Oncology at York Hospital.
Responsibilities
* Type clinics and general correspondence; manage complex diary and provide patient data.
* Deal with correspondence from patients, GPs and other sources, including scheduling of appointments to ensure referral to treatment targets are met.
* Support Consultant Medical Oncologists and their teams with communication, administrative and secretarial tasks; assist patients with their queries and concerns; engage with the broader clinical team and key stakeholders such as GPs.
Qualifications
* Minimum of two years recent secretarial/admin experience.
* Proficient typing skills, particularly audio‑typing, and experience with digital dictation.
* Knowledge of medical terminology (advantageous).
* Excellent communication skills, strong organisation, prioritisation ability in a fast‑paced environment; can work independently to meet strict deadlines.
* Efficient and resilient team player who upholds the Trust values; flexible approach to work and willingness to learn.
