What you’ll be doing
1. Manage and support SAP Payroll systems to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
2. Maintain and update payroll configurations in line with business and compliance requirements.
3. Collaborate with HR, payroll, and IT teams to troubleshoot issues and implement enhancements.
4. Support the transition between SAP on-premise and Employee Central Payroll cloud solutions.
5. Contribute to service design for digital fulfilment journeys and legacy rationalisation.
6. Monitor system performance and resolve payroll-related technical problems.
7. Support multi-country payroll expansions (e.g. Ireland, India) ensuring local compliance.
8. Document processes, changes, and configurations to maintain knowledge continuity.
9. Engage with stakeholders to align product vision and deliver business outcomes.
The skills you’ll need to succeed
10. SAP Payroll: Experience with SAP Payroll Schema, PCRs, Functions, Operations, and Enhancements.
11. Technical proficiency: Familiarity with HR Forms, Payslip creation/modification, Payroll Control Center, and Business Integration Builder.
12. Service design experience: Ability to produce high-quality, architecturally compliant designs aligned with BT’s roadmap.
13. Digital and agile mindset: Understanding of lean and agile methodologies and working in cross-functional squads.
14. Stakeholder engagement: Ability to collaborate with business leads, architects, and senior managers to manage expectations and deliver value.
15. Problem-solving: Strong analytical skills to resolve complex payroll and system issues.
16. Communication: Clear and confident communicator, able to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
17. Compliance awareness: Understanding of payroll regulations and ability to ensure system alignment with legal standards.
