* Contract Type: Full-time, permanent
* Hours: 39 hours per week (shift pattern)
* Salary:
* Unqualified: Base salary £27,519.96 with potential to earn up to £32,919.96 with sleep-in shifts
* Qualified (full diploma Level 5 or equivalent): Base salary £28,128.36 with potential to earn up to £33,528.36 with sleep-in shifts
Main Responsibilities
* Complete key domestic duties on a day-to-day basis to maintain a homely environment
* Encourage development of individual interests and attitudes by planning, organising and participating in activities
* Promote, safeguard and protect the welfare of each young person in accordance with Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018; assess individual needs and contribute to care and risk plans
* Establish and maintain positive and trusting relationships with the young people
* Manage behaviour positively and assertively in line with care and risk management plans
* Consult with young people to promote a healthy lifestyle
* Motivate and assist young people in developing and sustaining positive networks with adults, peers and families
* Participate in the development, implementation and review of packages of care through team meetings and supervision
* Attend, and where necessary advocate for, the Young Person in child care reviews

* Understanding and commitment to the role, which is 24/7, including weekends and bank holidays; sleep-in duties as part of a flexible rota
* Experience of supporting young people who may be vulnerable
* Ability to work on own initiative with a high level of accuracy and maintain clear, neat records
* Good interpersonal skills and be a positive team player
* Computer experience to an intermediate level
* Ability to complete daily records to meet statutory and policy requirements
* Empathetic nature
* Good oral and written communication skills in a variety of contexts
* Ability to engage, motivate and encourage young people
