ARB is a well-etablished 48 year old mechanical building services contractor that is looking to permanently employ a Mechanical Building Services Project Manager who is competent on projects ranging from £10k - £2 million.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Mechanical Building Services Project Manager to lead the delivery of mechanical services projects from inception through to completion. This role will oversee project planning, coordination, financial control, and client liaison across a range of sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and industrial developments.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with excellent leadership and commercial awareness to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage mechanical building services projects from pre-construction through to handover
* Oversee project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
* Manage project budgets, cost control, and financial reporting
* Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal teams
* Lead site meetings and maintain strong client relationships
* Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company policies
* Monitor progress against programme and manage risks effectively
* Review technical drawings, specifications, and ensure quality standards are met
* Support commissioning, testing, and final project handover
Requirements
* ONC/HNC qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline (City & Guilds)
* Proven experience managing mechanical building services projects
* Strong understanding of HVAC, public health, and mechanical systems
* Experience managing budgets and commercial aspects of projects
* Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards (e.g., Building Regulations, CIBSE guidelines)
* Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills
* Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, and project management software

* Experience in BIM coordination
* Experience working on large-scale or complex projects
