Job Title: Teacher – Maternity Cover
Location: Closeburn House School, Dumfriesshire, DG3 5HP
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday
Salary: Up to £54,453 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
Contract: Fixed Term, Term Time Only
Start: July 2026

You’ll create stimulating lessons that inspire curiosity and confidence, monitor progress, support personal development and work collaboratively with colleagues, families and professionals to provide a holistic approach to learning.
What you will be doing
* Planning and delivering engaging lessons that inspire and motivate pupils
* Preparing, assessing and monitoring pupil progress and achievement
* Supporting pupils academically, socially and emotionally to help them succeed
* Preparing pupils for examinations and supporting assessment processes
* Providing guidance and encouragement to support personal growth and wellbeing
* Building positive relationships with parents, carers, colleagues and external professionals
* Contributing to school development, improvement initiatives and curriculum planning
* Safeguarding and promoting the welfare, health and safety of all pupils
