Business Development Manager – Licensing (Germany, Remote)
A rapidly growing, innovation-driven biotechnology organisation is seeking a Business Development Manager to support its global partnering and licensing activities.
This is a high-impact role at the intersection of science and commercial strategy, focused on advancing differentiated biologic assets through strategic collaborations with international pharmaceutical and biotech partners.
The Role
You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing external partnering opportunities including out-licensing, co-development, and other structured transactions.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Identifying and developing new external partnering opportunities.
2. Building and presenting robust business cases with clear assumptions, risks, and strategic rationale.
3. Leading cross-functional due diligence across scientific, technical, clinical, regulatory, and commercial functions.
4. Driving BD transactions from early engagement through negotiation, deal closure, and alliance management.
5. Acting as a primary BD contact for selected opportunities.
6. Contributing to the evolution of partnering and licensing strategy.
7. Representing the organisation at international industry and partnering conferences.
8. Building and maintaining relationships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology partners.
Your Profile
We are seeking a scientifically credible business development professional who can translate complex biologics data into compelling partnering and licensing narratives.
You will bring:
9. PhD in a relevant life sciences discipline.
10. Strong experience in biologics drug discovery and development.
11. Ability to interpret complex preclinical datasets and position assets strategically for partners.
12. Understanding of advanced biologic modalities.
13. Strategic mindset to align scientific capabilities with partner pipeline needs.
14. Experience in business development, licensing, or alliance management within biotech/pharma.
15. Fluency in English; additional languages beneficial.
