Job description: Dudley Council is seeking a dedicated and proactive Workshop Assistant to join our team in a dynamic enviroment. Responsibilities To perform minor defect repairs To provide support, technical administrattion and assistance to the vehicle maintenance workshop Team Leaders To asist in the delivery and collection of vehicles, including taking vehicles for annual MOT To provide technical administation and assistance for the maintenance workshop equipment asset registers/ audits, providing accurate information to update databases To provide techncial administration and assistance for the vehicle maintenance workshop building inspections To provide techncial adminsitration and assistance for the ladder equipment and routine inspections To provide techncial administration and assistance for all vehicle maintenance workshop specialist equipment service, maintenance & contract documentation, including LOLER and all Certification To participate in the delivery of vehicle maintenance services outside of the normal Monday to Friday shift patterns to support winter maintenance operations To liaise, provide assistance and co-operate with all transport staff To attend appropriate training courses To perform general cleaning duties within the workshop To steam clean vehicles and plant To collect vehicle replacement parts Contribute to the safe and efficient operation of the council's vehicle/ plant fleet Requirements Knowledge of basic repair Health and Safety Knowledge City & Guilds in Repair and Maintenance or NVQ GCSE Qualification in Maths & English Grade D or above Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team (Essential) Connect2Dudley is a trading style of Dudley & Kent Commercial Services LTD - A joint venture between Dudley Metropolitan Council & Commercial Services Kent Ltd.
