CNC Miller / Turner (Setter/Operator) Location: Southend-on-Sea Salary: £18.00 – £25.00 per hour (DOE) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent - Day Shift The Role We are currently seeking a skilled CNC Miller/Turner (Setter/Operator) to join a well-established and growing precision engineering company based in Southend-on-Sea. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist who is confident setting and operating CNC machinery using Fanuc controls. Key Responsibilities Setting and operating CNC milling and/or turning machines Working with Fanuc control systems Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications Producing high-quality precision components to tight tolerances Conducting in-process inspections using measuring equipment Ensuring machines are running efficiently and safely Maintaining a clean and organised working environment Requirements Proven experience as a CNC Miller, Turner, or Miller/Turner Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls Ability to set and operate machines independently Competence in reading technical drawings Experience working to tight tolerances and quality standards Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills Team player with a proactive attitude Desirable (but not essential) Programming experience (online or offline) Experience with a variety of materials (e.g. aluminium, steel, plastics) Apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification What’s on Offer Competitive hourly rate (£18–£25 per hour, depending on experience) Overtime opportunities Stable, long-term position with a reputable company Supportive team environment Opportunities for progression and skill development If you are an experienced CNC machinist looking for your next opportunity in a dynamic and supportive environment, we would love to hear from you.
