Responsibilities
* Responsible for day‑to‑day running of the effluent plant, checks, monitoring and adjusting levels, readings and flows.
* Visual checks on equipment during machine operation.
* Basic preventative maintenance – oiling, greasing, replacing, tidying.
* Reporting, both written and verbal, of faults requiring specialist skills.
* Keeping the plant running within legislative boundaries.
* Carry out sampling requirements in accordance with agreed monitoring regimes.
* Maintain accurate records using computer‑based applications – Scada operation system.
* Ensure the effluent treatment plant area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
* Assist engineers with general maintenance tasks.
* Investigate and support utility efficiency and improvement projects.
* Provide reports and information to support utility efficiency to management.
* Monitoring, reporting repairs and upkeep of the plant and related equipment to required Health, Safety and Hygiene Standards in accordance with Company rules and regulations.
Qualifications
* Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance.
* Previous general maintenance experience, preferably within an industrial or waste management role.
* Ability to work as part of a team, possessing good communication and problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to follow instructions while working under own initiative.
* Attention to detail, commitment and the ability to accept responsibility.
* Possess a positive attitude and the willingness to learn.
* Excellent written and verbal English.
* Computer‑literate; able to use SCADA system and other in‑house applications.
* Proof of right to work in the UK.
* Reliable commute to Carnaby Industrial Estate YO15 3QY.
* Knowledge of record keeping aligned to auditable standards.
