JOB SUMMARY
The role of the Domestic support worker is to provide and maintain a safe and clean environment for all service users, staff and visitors within the healthcare body.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The post-holder will be required to carry out a range of duties which may include the following:-
1. To follow cleaning procedures/work schedules to ensure environmental cleaning standards are achieved and maintained.
2. To adhere to Policies and Procedures laid down by the Department.
3. Carry out cleaning duties in all areas as detailed on work schedules or as instructed in all areas of the residential home
4. Prepare and serve food/meals for the staff/children & young people on occasion.
5. Stock control which includes ordering, checking and storage of stock.
6. Practice a high standard of hygiene in all aspects of work, and maintain a high standard of personal hygiene.
7. Be responsible for opening and locking up of work areas where necessary.
8. To attend all mandatory/other training when scheduled.
9. Report all accidents and defects in equipment immediately to the Team Leader.
10. To co-operate and communicate with ward or department staff and work together as a team.
11. To carry out deep cleans on a regular basis of areas identified within the residential home soft play
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
The post holder will be required to:

13. Co-operate fully with the implementation of the Trust's Health and Safety arrangements, reporting any incidents/incidents/equipment defects to his/her manager, and maintaining a clean, uncluttered and safe environment for patients/clients, members of the public and staff.
14. Adhere at all times to all Trust policies/codes of conduct, including for example: - Smoke Free policy - IT Security Policy and Code of Conduct - Standards of attendance, appearance and behaviour - COSHH
15. Comply fully with the Trust's policy and procedures regarding records management, as well as the Data Protection Act, accepting legal responsibility for all manual or electronic records held, created or used as part of his/her duties, and ensuring that confidentiality is maintained at all times.
16. Take responsibility for his/her own ongoing learning and development, including full participation in KSF Development Reviews/appraisals, in order to maximise his/her potential and continue to meet the demands of the post.
17. Represent the Trust's commitment to providing the highest possible standard of service to patients/clients and members of the public, by treating all those with whom he/she comes into contact in the course of work, in a pleasant, courteous and respectful manner.
Hours of work: Part-time and Full time
30 hours per week including every other weekend
Requirements:
18. Effective communication skills to meet the needs of the post in full to include the ability to relate easily to staff, patients and the general public.
19. Ability to accept responsibility, to use initiative and to be accountable.
20. Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member.

21. To have previous cleaning experience
22. Flexibility in working hours
23. Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
