MK Dons Community Trust is a dynamic and passionate organization dedicated to making a positive impact in our local community through sport, education, and health initiatives. We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Officer to join our team on a part-time basis, working three days a week.
Role Overview:
The Finance Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the Trust's financial operations. You will be responsible for managing key financial processes, ensuring accuracy, and contributing to the smooth running of the Trust's finances. Key Responsibilities:
• Invoicing:
o Prepare and issue invoices accurately and in a timely manner to clients
and stakeholders.
o Maintain a detailed record of all invoices issued and payments
received.
o Liaise with relevant departments to ensure all services and goods are correctly invoiced.
• SLA Management:
o Support the management and monitoring of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with partners and funders.
o Ensure that financial aspects of SLAs are met and reported on
accurately.
o Assist in the reconciliation of financial data against SLA requirements.
• Debt Collection:
o Proactively manage and collect outstanding debts, ensuring prompt
payment.
o Implement and maintain effective debt collection procedures.
o Communicate professionally with debtors to resolve payment issues
and queries.
o Prepare regular reports on aged debt and collection progress.
• Budget Support:
o Assist the Head of Finance in the preparation and monitoring of
departmental budgets.
o Provide support in gathering financial data for budget forecasting and
analysis.
o Help to track expenditure against budgets and identify any variances.
• General Finance Administration:
o Process supplier payments and manage accounts payable.
o Assist with bank reconciliations and month-end closing procedures.
o Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
o Support with ad-hoc financial tasks and projects as required.
Person Specification:
• Proven experience in a finance or accounts role, ideally with experience in invoicing, debt collection, and budget support.
• Proficiency in accounting software (specific software experience a plus, but not essential).
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proactive and self-motivated, with a can-do attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A passion for the work of community trusts and charitable organizations is desirable.
Hours of Work:
• 3 days per week (days to be agreed, but flexibility is required).
• Approx. 21 hours per week.
• Salary - £30-32k pro rata
• 1 year fixed term (continuation based on funding)
