Senior early years practitioner

Lewes
The Old School House Nursery Lewes
Early years teaching assistant
Posted: 19 February
Offer description

This Outstanding nursery in Lewes is recruiting a Senior Early Years Practitioner.

The salary range is £28,000 to £29,000 a year (up to £13.94 ph). You'll work in a great team and with a lovely Manager, contribute to the planning and to the success of the nursery as a whole. We like to promote from within when we can.

The nursery itself is mid-sized, child-centric and our educational approach creates a harmonious, calm environment with free-flow outdoor learning.

We use a nature field across the road for Forest School; the children take regular walks to the duck pond, Lewes castle and the town's beautiful parks and gardens; and we run extra-activities such as yoga in the classroom.

The Manager will support you as you learn our routines and planning and the parents are super supportive of our educational approach.

Our normal working week is 40 hours, but a four day week is possible. Write to us if you interested in shorter hours.

We are open all-year-round. There is car parking close by, the train station is a 10-minute walk and we're on the main bus routes.

See our Facebook [] or Instagram [] pages for more on what it's like to work in our classroom.

Responsibilities

· To get to know the children and their families. (You'll develop a strong bond with children and parents and become an important part of their family life.)

· To help the children learn new skills and independence.

· To plan the children's activities. Our paperwork is kept to a minimum so you can spend time with the children.

Candidate requirements

· Level 3 Childcare qualification or above.

· Good knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

· You'll need to be articulate and confident. You'll be a Key Person capable of developing a partnership with parents.

· Forest School qualifications would be beneficial as would an interest in Montessori.

Rewards and benefits

· £28,000 to £29,000pa.

· 28 days annual leave plus an additional day for your birthday.

· Company contributions to your pension.

· A comprehensive induction and on-going training programme.

· To apply, email us, attaching your CV.

School House Nurseries follow a safer recruitment and selection process. Following an interview you will be expected to pass the referencing stage and pass a full / enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check prior to employment.

We are an equal opportunities employer.

No agencies please.
