The Maintenance Engineer will support the Africa Business Unit and is responsible for enhancing service quality and equipment reliability by improving workflows and optimising maintenance processes. He/ she is expected to help minimise downtime and failure rates and maximise equipment productivity.
Identify and capture opportunities for improvement in equipment maintainability and reliability.
Follow all established maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods. Provide feedback and suggestions for improvements.
Diagnose breakdown problems.
Carry out routine scheduled maintenance work and respond to equipment faults.
Deal with emergencies, unexpected problems, and repairs.
Improve health and safety policies and procedures.
Ensure application of asset management and maintenance systems data and accurate, timely data entry and reporting.
Participate in technical audits and compliance assessments and follow up on the closure of remedial action plans.
Can function as field engineer when needed.
Ensure compliance with the TGT code of conduct and HSE regulations at all times. (Adhere to all safety regulations).
Demonstrate personal commitment to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality.
Provide technical input to plan and schedule safe and efficient job mobilisations.
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognised institute or university, preferably in Electronics Engineering.
All minimum industry certifications are kept up to date.
4+ years’ experience in the oil industry as a Maintenance Engineer / Supervisor is preferred
Aptitude for hands-on work coupled with strong analytical skills and hands-on experience, including electronics service/repair
Willingness and ability to travel
Self-motivation in performing all duties
