Middlesbrough Council is seeking a motivated and organised individual to join our Transport & Infrastructure team as a Project Support Officer. This exciting opportunity sits within our Environment and Community Service and plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of key infrastructure and regeneration projects that enable inward investment and contribute to the town’s future. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in project management within a forward-thinking public sector organisation.
You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, gain hands-on experience in key regeneration initiatives, and be supported in your formal qualification.
To be successful in this role you need 5 GCSEs including English and Mathematics, and hold a minimum of 48 UCAS points, or equivalent.
You will have a responsibility for Support project delivery by preparing and coordinating essential documents, identifying and helping resolve project-related issues.
Assist in the development and feasibility of diverse projects that shape Middlesbrough’s transport and infrastructure landscape.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and efficient project coordination.
Contribute to the delivery of the capital programme and wider housing development goals.
Support financial tracking, budget monitoring, and compliance with corporate governance procedures.
Maintain high standards of project quality, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
Undertake the Level 4 Associate Project Manager apprenticeship as part of your development in this role.
