We are currently recruiting for a Process Engineer to join a leading engineering and defence organisation supporting advanced manufacturing programmes.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a highly regulated, high-hazard manufacturing environment, contributing to the development, optimisation and improvement of critical production processes.
You'll be part of a collaborative engineering team focused on process capability, manufacturing efficiency, and continuous improvement across complex production systems.
The Role As a Process Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting manufacturing operations and ensuring production processes are safe, efficient and capable of meeting demanding quality standards.
Working alongside engineers, production teams and technical specialists, you will help develop and improve manufacturing processes while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the development, improvement and optimisation of manufacturing processes
* Conduct process capability studies and performance analysis
* Lead or support process reviews and improvement initiatives
* Work with engineering teams to develop process documentation, specifications and drawings
* Assist with risk assessments, safe systems of work and project activities
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to support manufacturing requirements
* Monitor and report on process performance and KPIs
* Contribute to the development of future manufacturing technologies and capabilities
Skills & Experience We're looking for engineers with strong technical foundations and a proactive approach to solving manufacturing challenges.
You should ideally have experience in:
* Manufacturing or production process engineering
* Process improvement and capability analysis
* Working within regulated or safety-critical environments
* Risk management and engineering project activities
* Process line automation or awareness of automated control systems
* Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Experience in materials processing or high hazard manufacturing environments would be beneficial.
Qualifications
* Minimum HNC / HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or similar
* Six Sigma Green Belt or IOSH / NEBOSH certifications are desirable but not essential
Working Environment You will join a collaborative engineering team of around 7–10 specialists, working in a technically challenging and fast-paced environment.
The role offers hybrid working, typically:
* 3 days onsite
* 1 day working from home
* Monday – Thursday schedule
Security Requirements Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be sole UK nationals and able to meet UK security clearance requirements.
