Purchase Ledger Clerk - Dursley (Permanent, Full-Time)

The Opportunity
This position is an integral part of the accounts team, primarily responsible for managing the purchase ledger. It also involves supporting other areas such as sales ledger, expenses, and reporting.
Responsibilities
1. Review invoices for accuracy and proper formatting.
2. Obtain approvals and process all purchase invoices.
3. Process credit card and expense claims.
4. Ensure invoices are posted with correct VAT amounts/groups.
5. File invoices electronically.
6. Communicate with suppliers to investigate price, quantity, or quality queries.
7. Create manual debit notes for claims.
8. Reverse and correct invoice postings as needed.
9. Propose payment amounts for upcoming periods.
10. Request and reconcile supplier statements.
11. Build and maintain good relationships with suppliers by assisting with their queries.
12. Open new supplier accounts in the company's financial database.
13. Maintain accurate details for all suppliers listed.
Skills and Knowledge
* Previous experience in purchase ledger or similar accounting role.
* AAT Level 2/3 qualification.
* Proficient in computer applications.
