We are currently seeking a Control Point Operations Engineer to join our Topside division.

Core Purpose
* Based at the advanced Control Centre in Edinburgh, this role is central to the management of daily operations for National Critical Energy Generation Infrastructure.
* Responsibilities include monitoring and controlling real-time network activities and collaborating with key industry stakeholders to safeguard the reliability, performance, and integrity of the network.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
* Integrate into the Global 24/7 NRG Control Point team to support continuous operational excellence.
* Support and contribute to fostering a culture of excellence within the facility.
* Operate and coordinate high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) activities using the NRG Control Point SCADA systems.
* Manage real-time network operations and coordinate maintenance tasks to ensure safety, maximise production, maintain system stability, and optimise asset availability.
* Monitor and ensure compliance with Global Electrical and Mechanical Safety Rules, influencing implementation where necessary.
* Support the creation and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operating systems.
* Maintain daily communication and coordination with Global Site Engineers.
* Participate in the 24/7 operational shift schedule.
* Adapt to changing operational requirements while ensuring continuous support for network operations and maintenance activities.
Skills and Experience
* Possess expertise in project management, engineering, high-voltage (HV) safety, and asset analysis.
* Proven track record in an electrical engineering role, ideally with extensive experience across HV infrastructure at voltages ranging from 11–400 kV.
* Prior experience in a Control Room or control systems environment, particularly within national electrical infrastructure or marine industries, is desirable. However, we highly value candidates with transferable skills, including expertise in managing large rotating machinery, operational maintenance, and related areas.
* Thorough understanding of electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs) and mechanical piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
* Competent in ensuring compliance with ‘Safety from the System’ and Electrical and Mechanical Safety Rules procedures.
* Capable of overseeing electrical and mechanical activities to ensure safety, technical accuracy, contractual compliance, and effective operational performance.
* Proven track record in implementing compliance processes for grid connection points.
* Commitment to continuous professional development through participation in training, upskilling, and learning opportunities to remain current with industry trends and best practices.
Qualifications
* Engineering degree and apprenticeship, or equivalent, highly desirable.
* Previous experience, authorisation, and substantial exposure to Electrical and Mechanical Safety Rules.
