Overview
We are seeking a Commercial Services Manager to support the team overseeing the commercial governance of our contracts with key consultancies and contractors. The role includes helping set up and manage pathfinder programmes that embed best practice and develop long-term collaborative partnerships that deliver value for money and societal benefit. You will work within the Commercial Assurance and Framework Management Team, providing country-wide support to Integrated Delivery Management teams and the wider Project Management community.
Everyone that joins us is required to undertake training and participate in incident response duties when needed. Team
You will be an integrated part of the Commercial and Framework Management (CAFM) team, part of Portfolio Management, Assurance & Commercial (PMAC), supporting our Programme and Contract Management Service to create a better place and build resilient communities through excellent commercial risk management. You will support local delivery hub leadership to ensure sustainable outcomes on delivery programmes.
Responsibilities
* Support the team overseeing commercial governance of contracts with key consultancies and contractors.
* Help set up and manage pathfinder programmes that embed best practice and develop long-term collaborative partnerships.
* Deliver excellent value for money by maximising returns on budgets and demonstrating value for money.
* Assist in governance and commercial assurance across projects and programmes.
* Develop internal and external relationships and become an expert in contractual and commercial interpretations within a high-performing team.
* Participate in incident response duties as required.
Experience/Skills Required
* A-Level Qualifications, Level 3 Qualifications or equivalent.
* Skilled communicator with strong interpersonal and influencing abilities.
* Stakeholder management experience.
* Strong data and document management skills.
* Commercial acumen: ability to understand and analyse business situations, take proportionate risks, make informed decisions and deliver value for money; demonstrates curiosity and drive.
* Administrative skills: strong organisation, ability to write minutes and draft reports.
* Willingness to shadow and undertake long-term professional qualifications (e.g., NEC training, CIPS) and ask questions to drive development.
* Interest in infrastructure, construction or environmental programmes.
Education / Professional Requirements
* Degree or equivalent professional qualification or experience.
* Working towards status with a recognised professional body (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, APM, CIPS, or RICS).
* Formal training in contract management (e.g., NEC, Contract Management Capability Programme).
