Job Description:
The Role
Enterprises, when starting on their cloud journey, often imagine that they will simplify their environment. The reality for many, however, is that adoption of cloud adds additional technologies and capabilities, drives divergence in operating models, often splits business processes across multiple tech stacks in different landing zones, and overall adds significant complexity to the enterprise estate. The Hybrid Platform Security Architect is charged with ensuring that business objectives can be realized in a secure and compliant manner in this complex environment. Security must be seen as an enabler, not a bottleneck.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required
We are seeking vibrant technical leaders who can communicate and manage relationships with senior stakeholders, build compelling transformation journeys, and be key players in their delivery. Proven experience in helping clients shape and deliver technology-enabled change that delivers value, security, agility, and efficiency is essential.
* Experience delivering complex large-scale security solutions on cloud or hybrid environments, especially integrating into the wider enterprise.
* Strong knowledge of traditional security approaches, technologies, and operating models, as well as cloud platform security capabilities (GCP, Azure, AWS).
* Ability to balance 'one size fits all' versus 'landing zone specific' security solutions.
* Knowledge of IdAM solutions and principles of zero trust systems.
* Understanding of operating models in legacy and cloud environments, with ability to contribute to design and implementation.
* Experience with security testing and auditing.
* Understanding of IT operating models, including DevOps practices, and how to enhance security through them.
* Experience managing security aspects of cloud strategy reviews and assessments.
* Recognized industry qualifications relevant to the role and seniority are preferred.
You must be a practitioner and a theorist, passionate about technology, and able to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams. Credibility with clients and colleagues is crucial. You will support clients throughout their transformation journey, building relationships and ensuring successful implementation of major changes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide credible thought leadership based on real-life experience.
* Design cloud/technology roadmaps, implementation strategies, and transformation plans.
* Assess cloud strategies and vendor proposals impartially.
* Offer insights across various technology areas, including integration and hybrid hosting.
* Contribute to the development of profitable Cloud and Defence Consulting practices.
* Collaborate with colleagues to leverage knowledge and experience.
* Share knowledge through coaching and advising colleagues.
* Develop strong client relationships, understanding their business problems, and identifying commercial opportunities for KPMG.
Base Location
The role may be based at any UK office, with expectations of being on-site for a few days weekly when not on client site. Client constraints may require more on-site presence, and significant UK travel may be necessary.
