Overview
The Sussex Children and Young Peoples Service have an exciting permanent opportunity for a CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist to join their Tier 4 inpatient team. This role focuses on delivering a safe, effective and caring service to young people (ages 13–18) admitted to an Inpatient Unit and their families/carers within Sussex.
The role is based in Haywards Heath, Chalkhill Hospital.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: £105,504 to £139,882 per year pro rata. Includes a Recruitment and Retention payment of £45,000 (structured over three years): £15,000 upon recruitment; £10,000 at 12 months; £10,000 at 24 months; £10,000 at 36 months. The payment is pro rata for part-time employees.

Responsibilities
* Provide inpatient CAMHS services for young people aged 13–18 within the Trust’s inpatient unit.
* Lead, develop and participate in multidisciplinary care planning and delivery.
* Collaborate with the Trust-wide Consultant network and BSMS links to support training and service development.
* Engage in teaching and supervision of trainees and students as part of the Trust’s teaching ethos.
* Participate in continuous professional development, audits, and quality improvement activities.

Qualifications and Requirements
Essential: MB BS or equivalent; GMC registration with licence to practice; included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months; in good standing with GMC; approved clinician status or ability to achieve within 3 months; valid UK driving licence (or alternative evidence); excellent knowledge and clinical skills in the specialty; strong English communication skills; ability to work in a team and lead; commitment to CPD, teaching, and research/service evaluation. Desirable: broad NHS-based experience and achievements in education, research, audits and service improvement.
