Role Details:
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all contracts are executed in line with agreed terms and conditions, contracted rates and prices, and within the agreed scope of supply and liability. The role requires upholding the Company financial interests whilst demonstrating value for money and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure the contract is executed in accordance with agreed terms and conditions, at contracted rates and prices within an agreed extent of supply and limits of liability, demonstrating value for money.
* Lead financial and commercial reporting, including month-end and year-end financial reporting.
* Review monthly costs and revenue, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
* Oversee the quantification, pricing and management of contract additions, omissions, variations, and discrepancies, between the contract and actual works undertaken, including negotiation and reconciliation.
* Act as the lead representative for internal and external audits, investigating and resolving commercial queries and providing clarity.
* Collaborate with department heads to keep customers informed of all financial information, including Work in Progress calculations on a continuous basis.
* Interpret and manage commercial requirements fairly, identify and manage risks, and report responsibly to protect Company and contract interests.
* Prepare and oversee valuations, applications for payment, and subcontract account settlements.
* Manage both Company and Client commercial systems, ensuring accurate data and reporting.
* Maintain and archive complete and accurate commercial records.
* Compile and negotiate rate increases in line with applicable labour agreements and legislative changes.
* Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and colleagues.
* Provide ad-hoc reports and support as required.
* Represent the Company at client meetings, acting as a trusted commercial partner.
* Undertake any other tasks the business requires commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Demonstrable experience in commercial management within the construction industry or a related field.
* Proven knowledge of commercial awareness and contract management
