Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced and commercially minded Scoping Estimator to join our team.
The Scoping Estimator will play a key role in identifying, surveying, scoping, and pricing works across a varied portfolio of projects and maintenance contracts. The role combines regular site visits with office-based estimating duties and requires a practical understanding of construction methods, maintenance works, and Schedule of Rates (SOR) pricing.
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate scopes of work and competitive estimates while ensuring commercial viability and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
* Attend site visits to inspect, assess, and fully scope required works
* Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction and maintenance projects
* Produce quotations based on labour, materials, subcontractor costs, and plant requirements
* Interpret drawings, specifications, and client requirements
* Prepare estimates using Schedule of Rates (SOR) contracts and pricing mechanisms
* Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal delivery teams
* Identify risks, variations, and value engineering opportunities
* Assist with tender submissions and pricing documentation
* Maintain accurate estimating records and cost databases
* Support operational teams during project handover and mobilisation
Requirements
* Previous experience in estimating or surveying role within construction and/or maintenance
* Strong understanding of construction processes, refurbishment, and maintenance works
* Experience with Schedule of Rates (SOR) contracts
* Ability to undertake site surveys independently and accurately define xsngvjr scopes of work
* Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
* Strong numerical and analytical skills
* Competence with Microsoft Office and estimating software
* Full UK driving license
Desirable
* Experience working on projects up to £200k in value
* Knowledge of public sector or framework contracts
* Trade background or construction qualification (HNC/HND/NVQ or equivalent)
