JOB PURPOSE
To manage the running of the manufacturing operations during your shift as directed by your manager, ensuring operational targets are achieved using the available resources. To ensure H&S policies and procedures are followed and adhered to providing a safe working environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* To manage the day to day running of their shift ensuring production targets area achieved within budget and to plan.
* To ensure Health & Safety standards and procedures are followed, adhered to and improved upon.
* To be aware of and comply with company safety policy and all related statutory legislation to ensure safe working practices and condition.
* To maintain and look to improve current quality standards within the manufacturing operation
* To effectively manage the shift production team ensuring maximum utilisation of all resources.
* To support where required the production manager with regards to disciplinary and return to work interviews
* To carry out shift team briefs and communication sessions as directed by their manager
* To communicate with other departmental team leaders to ensure correct continuity of the manufacturing plan and consistency of approach.
* To attend any training courses required in line with personal responsibility to the company and to meet legislative requirements.
* To be flexible and prepared to perform such duties as is deemed reasonable by management in response to changing business circumstances.
PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
* Achieve targeted run speeds
* Constantly strive to reduce downtime to agreed levels
* Meet and maintain customer requirements in terms of quality and output
* Compliance with the company's quality standards (PS9000 and BRC/IoP)
* Adherence to the company's health safety & environment standards (HASAWA Act)
* Maintain a good overall condition of work area through routine maintenance
* Accurate & efficient control of components including filing and good housekeeping practices condition of the folder gluer you are assigned to.
