Job Advert 16 hours per week, 36 weeks per year, Fixed Term until 9 August 2026 Pinewood school has a vacancy for a fixed term Advanced Pupil Support Worker, working with pupils with supported needs. The role is a fixed term contract. Work pattern is 16 hours per week Wednesday-Friday across 39 weeks per year. We are keen to employ a diverse workforce that reflects the people of Scotland. The curriculum is designed and adapted to meet the diverse needs of individual learners. The school is based in the village of Blackburn and has strong community links. The school has both a primary and a secondary department. During the session 2025/2026 the school roll will comprise of roughly 160 pupils, Head Teacher, Depute Head Teacher, 3 Principal Teachers, 24 members of the teaching staff and a team of 74 pupil support workers. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date. This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
