A leading engineering company is seeking a Control Systems Engineer for a 12-month contract (Inside IR35) to focus on the design, development, and integration of safety-critical control systems. Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and integrate control system architectures, including SCADA, DCS, and PLC-based solutions
* Collaborate with instrumentation, electrical, and human factors teams to ensure seamless system performance
* Support the development of HMI displays and operator interfaces as part of wider control system delivery
* Apply functional safety principles (IEC 61508 / IEC 61511) and alarm management strategies in system design
* Produce detailed design documentation, control philosophies, and system specifications
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications
Requirements:
* Proven experience in control systems engineering (SCADA / DCS / PLC / HMI)
* Strong knowledge of instrumentation and control system integration
* Experience with functional safety standards and lifecycle management
* Understanding of alarm management and human factors in control systems
* Ability to produce design documentation, specifications, and system diagrams
* Strong communication and collaboration skills within multi-disciplinary teams
* Eligibility to work fully on-site for the duration of the contract
