Medicines Counter Assistant - Churchdown, Gloucester
Overview
Badham Pharmacy is a family-owned chain of 27 pharmacies across Gloucestershire and Bristol, serving patients since 1940 with a focus on patient-centred care. This vacancy is in our Morley Avenue, Churchdown branch and is for 17 hours a week, with the opportunity to work additional hours as overtime to cover holidays and absence.
Hours of work are fixed at 13:00-18:00 Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and every other Saturday 09:00-13:00. Starting pay aligns with the National Living Wage. Responsibilities
* Provide advice to patients on a range of common ailments.
* Afford appropriate selling of over-the-counter medicines to patients and handle prescriptions within the pharmacy.
* Work under the supervision of a responsible pharmacist who is available for referral or advice.
* Deliver friendly, confident customer service and engage with customers about additional services, including the Pharmacy First scheme.
Qualifications
* Experience as a Medicines Counter Assistant (MCA) is ideal.
* If not MCA trained, prior healthcare or retail experience is beneficial.
* Expect to complete the NPA Interact (Medicines Counter Assistant) course, approximately 6 months during probation.
* Opportunity to progress to a trainee dispenser in the future.
