We’re looking for a Health, Safety and Emergency Planning Officer to join our Corporate Health, Safety and Emergency Planning Team and help raise the bar on our safety and emergency strategy.

What you will be doing:

As a Health, Safety and Emergency Planning Officer, you will support the Health, Safety and EPRR Lead in daily activities and strategic initiatives. Your duties will include:

* Assisting with administrative tasks such as proofreading reports, managing consultation correspondence, and booking meetings. Ensuring all accident/incident/near miss reports are logged according to internal procedures.
* Managing the H&S and EP mail inboxes, maintaining documentation, and ensuring quality control in document management. Keeping accurate records of training, inspections, audits, policies, and procedures.
* Prioritising queries and escalating issues to the Lead as necessary.
* Maintaining clear and accurate records for health and safety and emergency planning, organising information effectively, and scheduling training sessions.
* Managing training matrices and calendars related to emergency planning and local resilience forums.
* Assisting with meeting arrangements, including planning, minute-taking, and distributing relevant documentation.

What skills do I need?

* Experience in a support, administrative, or health and safety role.
* Proficiency with computer software packages.
* A strong customer care focus for internal staff and external customers.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Ability to build good working relationships and work both independently and as part of a team.
* Discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
