Role Overview: As our Junior Procurement Buyer, you will support the procurement function by assisting in supplier management, procurement processes, and cost management activities across the business. You will work closely with senior procurement and internal stakeholders to ensure suppliers deliver against agreed commitments on quality, cost, and service. You will also support procurement reporting, maintain accurate data and documentation, and assist in identifying opportunities to improve procurement processes and supplier performance. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the business to ensure procurement activities are aligned with operational requirements while supporting efficient and cost-effective supply management. Main Duties: Assist in developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers Support post-contract supplier management, ensuring suppliers meet commitments on quality, delivery and service Request supplier quotations, support RFX management and clarify specifications Support supplier quarterly scorecard performance metrics and assist in resolving performance issues Assist in resolving supplier issues and disputes promptly Support, challenge and improve procurement processes and best practices Assist in reviewing contracts and agreements prior to final approval and signatory Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities Support the analysis of supplier pricing structures and commercial terms to ensure competitive pricing Assist in monitoring and reporting on procurement budgets and spend Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, supplier performance and market trends Work closely with internal teams (e.g. finance, legal, operations, data security) to ensure alignment on procurement requirements discussions Identify opportunities to improve procurement efficiency and supplier performance Requirements Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred (relevant experience will also be considered) Experience supporting procurement or supplier management activities is advantageous Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and support decision making Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities Proactive approach to resolving supplier and procurement challenges Comfortable working within a developing or newly established procurement function Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Familiarity with procurement systems or ERP systems is advantageous Benefits 23 days' holiday Bank Holidays Company Pension scheme Company Sick Pay (after qualifying period) Cycle to Work scheme available Employee rewards and discounts Option to join Health Care Cash Plan 24/7 365-day access to Employee Assistance Programme through Health Assured Access to on-going learning and development with our online learning platform Opportunity for career progression There’s onsite parking
