The Permanent Division of Robert Half is currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant on behalf of a Care Company with offices in Welwyn Garden City The Role As an Assistant Accountant within our organisation, your primary purpose is to provide vital support in the areas of accounts payable and receivable, while also contributing to month-end financial activities including accruals and prepayments. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial processes. Day to day duties will consist of: Accounts Payable and Receivable Support: Process and reconcile invoices, ensuring timely payments and accurate recording of transactions. Assist in resolving any discrepancies or issues with vendors or customers. 2.Month-End Activities: Collaborate with the finance team to prepare accruals and prepayments, ensuring expenses and revenues are correctly recognized. Assist in generating month-end financial reports and analysis as required. 3.Ad Hoc Analysis and Reporting: Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and business planning. Prepare ad hoc reports and presentations for management based on financial data and trends. 4.Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Manage and execute balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies identified during reconciliations. Fixed Asset Management: Assist in maintaining the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, and depreciation calculations. Conduct periodic physical audits of fixed assets to verify existence and condition. Your Profile Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices. Basic understanding in accounting software and MS Excel for data analysis and reporting. Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records. Good organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and trends. Excellent communication skills to collaborate across teams and explain financial information clearly. Salary and Benefits Role of a Assistant Accountant in Welwyn Garden City is paying a Salary of £30,000 - dependant on experience. Benefits include - 24 days annual leave 1 day for Birthdays.
