Job Description:
We are currently looking for hardworking, enthusiastic, and friendly individuals with a Diploma in ODP NVQ Level 3, City and Guilds 752, or a 1st Level Nurse with a current anaesthetic competency certificate to join our fast-paced Acute Theatre Suite.
All applicants must be members of the UK HCPC or UK NMC register.
Hours will be scheduled to meet the service needs, including shift, weekend, and rotational night work as required.
Our vision is to develop a multi-skilled workforce with rotation through Anaesthetics, Recovery, and Scrub duties, based on qualifications and experience.
We offer a wide range of surgical specialties, including Maxillo Facial, ENT, General Surgery, Orthopaedic Trauma, Gynaecology, Obstetrics, Urology, and Paediatrics, covering elective and emergency procedures.
Some specialties utilize Robotic Assisted Surgical Technology, an innovative addition to NHS Fife, with ongoing development.
We provide comprehensive anaesthetic assistant services across operating theatres and outlying areas such as the Emergency Department resuscitation area, ECT unit, Community Dental Unit, and Interventional Radiology.
The Fife Elective Orthopaedic Centre, a National Treatment Centre of Excellence opened in Spring 2023, hosts three theatres.
You should have excellent communication skills, the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, and evidence of ongoing professional development.
Our department is supported by one full-time and two part-time Clinical Educators, along with a part-time Education Coordinator.
The theatre environment is fast-paced and intense, emphasizing a team-oriented approach.
If you enjoy challenges and wish to join this busy, friendly unit, this may be the right opportunity for you.
For informal inquiries, contact Tel: 01592 643355 Ext 28288 (ACL Leah Wood) or Ext 28954 (Team Lead Kirsty Russell).
Applicants must become members of the PVG Scheme before appointment.
NHS Fife is legally obliged to verify your right to work in the UK. Non-UK or Irish nationals must confirm their right to work in their application.
We support flexible working, family-friendly policies, and make reasonable adjustments to assist disabled candidates, those with long-term conditions, or neurodivergent individuals.
NHS Scotland promotes equality and diversity, aiming for a workforce that is representative and respectful. We encourage applications from all sections of society.
