The role of NCS Team Leader is an exciting opportunity to encourage, motivate, and inspire teams of young people, to make the most of their NCS experience, and help them to develop transferable skills for their future. In this role, you will lead and motivate a generation of young people, at pivotal moments in their lives.
Through our community experiences, we are seeking to provide young people with regular activities close to home, giving them more choice, and flexibility, in how they engage with a year-round offer:
1. Developing life skills and supporting independent living
2. Building employability and work-readiness
3. Providing opportunities for volunteering and social action
4. Enabling social mixing of young people from all backgrounds
Main Duties and Accountabilities
5. Leading and motivating a team of up to fifteen young people, to complete an NCS Community Experience programme.
6. Delivering programmes that provide young people (15-16 years old) with the life skills to transition into adulthood, supporting young people from initial application through to programme completion.
7. Supporting young people to develop skills and encouraging them to seize opportunities, face the future with confidence, build an appreciation and tolerance of different views and perspectives, and become more actively engaged in civic life.
8. Supporting managers to continually improve programme content.
9. Ensuring that we are maximising opportunities to build on existing relationships with external partners, to increase the impact of our programmes.
*Multiple roles are available across Telford & Wrekin, Shropshire, and South Staffordshire.
*Roles can be delivered at hours to suit you (across evening and weekends during term time, or throughout the week during holidays).
